Depending on the lighting conditions. If you have enough light, you do not have a flash. However, there are many (many!) Occasions (interior and exterior), in which you can increase the lighting with the flash. Your camera, albeit a bit old, you can play with shutter speed, which allows for some flexibility, but I would advise you to always have a wink in his hand.
